‘CROSSROADS’ a group show by the Art Conversations WA collective and Lois Moir and Zuifeng Cao, presents artworks exploring personal turning points, transitions, and the choices that shape our journeys. Opening speech by Lesley Zampatti.
What does it mean to stand at a turning point?
Join the Art Conversations WA collective and guest artists for CROSSROADS, a vibrant exploration of change, choice, and transition.
Through a diverse range of media, including expressive oil paintings, radical paper clay sculpture, and evocative photography, nine local artists share their personal stories of "here, there, and everywhere." Whether reflecting on the nostalgia of the WA wheat belt or the quiet moments of becoming, this exhibition offers a fresh perspective on the paths we choose to follow.
Each artist in this exhibition brings a unique perspective to the theme of transition. Here is a glimpse into the works you will experience:
Andy Druyan: Explores the intersection of realism and expressive freedom in his Tea Party series.
Anita Grewal: Finds quiet order and emotional resonance through geometric gouache compositions.
Eimear Flynn: Challenges viewers to reflect on what they carry and what they leave behind.
Graham Hay: Offers a critique of contemporary dilemmas through radical paper clay sculpture.
Ivana Girard: Captures the "liminal space" of becoming through ethereal oil portraits.
Iwona Van Niekerk: Explores the tension of being paused between the past and the unknown.
Jane Marron: Reconstructs the nostalgic tracks of the WA wheat belt through textured landscapes.
Kamila Waleszkiewicz: Documents the psychological middle ground between trauma and healing.
Kelly Ha: Reflects on the quiet, resilient bonds of human connection in everyday moments.
"From personal stories to shared experiences, every work offers a fresh perspective, with paintings from here, there, and everywhere."
This exhibition is free to attend, and everyone is welcome.
To celebrate the launch, we invite you to an afternoon of art, conversation, and live music.
