Fairy Tales for Children with Dyslexia, Speech Therapy Colouring Book
Year: 2003
Publisher: Oficyna Wydawnicza Impuls
Fairy Tales for Children with Dyslexia was inspired by my daughter's early experiences of learning to read and write in Polish. Like many children, she found it difficult to remember the differences between similar letters, sounds, and spelling patterns. Wanting to make learning both enjoyable and meaningful, I wrote a collection of short, rhythmic stories that transformed reading practice into play.
Each story introduces a different Polish letter or spelling challenge, using rhyme, humour, repetition, and memorable characters to help children build lasting associations between sounds and letters. Rather than relying on traditional exercises, the book encourages children to develop reading and spelling skills naturally through storytelling, imagination, and curiosity.
Originally written for one child, the book was later published by Oficyna Wydawnicza Impuls, one of Poland's leading educational publishers. Since its publication, it has supported parents, teachers, and speech therapists working with children who experience difficulties in learning to read and write, demonstrating how creative storytelling can become a powerful educational tool.
Year: 2005
Publisher: Municipality of Stronie Śląskie (Gmina Stronie Śląskie)
Languages: Polish and Czech
The book introduces children to the history, geology, and natural heritage of Bear Cave (Jaskinia Niedźwiedzia) near Stronie Śląskie through an engaging adventure filled with riddles and clues. Designed to encourage curiosity and exploration, it promotes regional heritage while fostering children's interest in nature and local history.
Published by the Municipality of Stronie Śląskie, the book was created to help young readers connect with the unique landscape and history of the area, transforming local heritage into an exciting journey of discovery.
A unique feature of the publication is that all illustrations were created by children. The artworks ware selected through an international competition involving schools from Stronie Śląskie, Poland, and Staré Město, Czech Republic, reflecting the collaborative spirit of the cross-border project.
Little Bear Kletnuś was created as part of the "Discover Our Region – The Legend of Little Bear Kletnuś" project, funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the INTERREG IIIA Czech Republic–Poland Programme. A total of 5,000 copies were published, including 3,000 in Polish and 2,000 in Czech.
A selection of my original children's stories, written for my own children, was later adapted into free Polish-language audiobooks by Tata Mariusz in collaboration with MiastoDzieci.pl. Originally published on MiastoDzieci.pl, the recordings introduced my stories to a wider audience of young listeners and remain freely available online.
